97 free Final Fantasy VII trivia questions with answers — entertainment quiz, new questions added Oct 2026.
Final Fantasy VII is the game that turned Japanese role-playing games into a worldwide phenomenon. It started life as a 2D Super Nintendo project set in New York in 1999, was abandoned on the Nintendo 64 when a single Behemoth monster tanked the frame rate, and landed on the PlayStation with a budget that made it the most expensive game of its era and a marketing campaign that ran ads during The Simpsons. These 97 questions cover the world and the making of it: Cloud Strife and the lie about SOLDIER, AVALANCHE and Shinra, the Cetra, Jenova and Meteor, the Turks and the Gold Saucer-era cast of Barret, Tifa, Red XIII, Cait Sith, Cid, Yuffie and Vincent. Production questions range from Sakaguchi, Kitase, Uematsu and Nomura to the Musashi-Kojiro rivalry behind Cloud and Sephiroth, the Aeris translation error, the Honey Bee Inn that Sony wanted cut, the trapezoidal PC box, and the Stravinsky piece behind One-Winged Angel. Easy questions stick to the main cast and the console; the hardest ask about the sole translator, the detective in the first draft and a NES bootleg. Every answer is cited to a page we checked, with a short explanation so you learn something even when you miss. Play it solo or print it for a retro gaming night.
