78 free Harry Potter Spells trivia questions with answers — entertainment quiz, new questions added Aug 2026.
This Harry Potter spell trivia quiz is entirely about the magic itself: the incantations, what they do, what counters them and who invented them. It starts with the ones every reader knows (Wingardium Leviosa, Lumos, Alohomora, Accio, Stupefy, Expecto Patronum) and works through the duelling spells, the healing charms, the household charms, the jinxes and hexes of the Marauders and the Half-Blood Prince, the protective enchantments Hermione cast around the tent, and the three Unforgivable Curses. Easy questions ask which spell disarms an opponent or which one lights a wand; the hard ones want the counter-charm to Prior Incantato, the spell that turns a staircase into a slide, the witch who invented the Mending Charm and the year Elizabeth Smudgling made the Disarming Charm famous. Every question gives four incantations or effects, so you have to know the spell, not just recognise the Latin. Every answer was checked against the Harry Potter Wiki's individual spell articles, which cite the books and Wizarding World, and each question carries the sentence that supports it.
