Sami Zayn spent more than a decade as one of the most travelled wrestlers on the independent circuit before WWE signed him in 2013. Fans who look up his match history on a database such as Cagematch find a career that runs from small halls in Quebec to WrestleMania main events, with a friendship and feud with Kevin Owens running through almost all of it. This quiz follows that record in order. It covers his years as the luchador El Generico in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Japan, his rise through NXT, his Intercontinental, United States and tag team title reigns, the storyline that turned him into a main-event star, and the night he finally won WWE's top championship. A few questions look at his background and his life outside the ring. It suits longtime fans who followed him from the independents, newer viewers who know him from Raw and SmackDown, and anyone settling an argument about who beat whom, and where.
